I have been practicing yoga for a long time now and I am so grateful that I discovered yoga then because of the amazing benefits it has given me. These benefits are available to everyone
- Yes, for everyone!
All ages, body sizes, strong or weak, flexible or inflexible... Yoga makes you feel better, without exception.
You may need to find a style or teacher that suits you or your situation, but once you do, yoga has the potential to change your life for the better.
I promise!
Below are some of the main reasons why I recommend you start yoga:
Yoga makes you feel better
It's that simple and that's why so many people practice yoga. You will always feel better after a yoga class. Of course, if you're still a beginner, you might feel frustrated if you can't balance on one leg or fully relax your body, but choose the right class for your level and you'll feel different, better, calmer, happier. If you don't believe me, try it...
Yoga will strengthen your body, make it flexible and healthy
You have to give yourself a chance, most people begin to feel the physical benefits of yoga the first time they practice. Over time (in less time than you think!) your flexibility will increase, your strength level will improve, your muscles will become stronger and you will become more flexible. I recommend starting with hatha yoga as it is the foundation of most yoga styles. As your body gets stronger, so will your mind. You will feel more confident.
Yoga helps to calm your mind, you will feel calm
After a yoga class, I always find that my state of mind has changed. It was as if the thoughts were sorted in the head. Some things fell into place, some just didn't, or I have a completely different perspective on different things. I generally practice yoga in a quiet place and it helps me relax more.
Yoga helps you stay focused
Because your mind will be calmer and less cluttered, it's easier to direct your energy where you want it to go. Yoga basically gets me out of being all over the place so I can focus on one thing again. In yoga they say that with practice you develop one-pointed concentration. It's really happening. You train your mind to become aware and be present. Research has also shown that after a yoga class, a person is better able to focus mental resources, process information more accurately, and learn, store and update information more effectively. What do you say about that?!
Yoga helps you accept what life brings to your table
Life experiences are not always positive. Hard things happen to all of us, and sometimes we feel pain. Yoga taught me that everything changes. Both positive and painful things come and go in life. Knowing this and understanding it on a deeper level makes it easier to accept, be present, and stay positive during difficult times.
Yoga helps you make better choices
Become healthier! Experiencing all the benefits of yoga will help you choose the things that will support this positive journey. You are slowly becoming more aware of how it affects you. You will find that you naturally want to make changes to your diet, choose foods that support your health, and practice yoga. You can see this in your friendships, spending more time with friends who have a positive influence, having more strength to get out of negative situations.
Yoga makes you more aware
So yes! That is the essence of it. You will become more aware of everything, who you really are, your tendencies, your life, what is good and not so good for you, what you really want and what is important to you. As you develop self-awareness, you will be able to change the thoughts and interpretations you make in your mind. Changing the interpretations in your mind allows you to change your emotions. Self-awareness is one of the attributes of emotional intelligence and an important factor in achieving success in various areas of your life.
